Iowa Farm Bureau and ISU Extension are offering workshops in the Winning the Game educational series throughout the state this winter.   Crop marketing plans and tools take on increased importance in these times of the continuing tight/no crop margins being experienced by Iowa farmers.

Workshops will soon be held in LeMars (Jan. 8), Marion (Jan. 11), Washington (Jan. 12), Ottumwa (January 15), Creston (Jan. 18), Sioux Rapids (Jan. 25), Hampton (Jan. 25), Readlyn (Jan. 26), Calmar (Feb. 12), Nevada (Feb. 15) and perhaps more.

The program introduces characters that market using specific timing and other characteristics to show the results of different strategies over time.  After seeing the results over years of history, farmers can then begin to incorporate their own marketing plans.   Plus, participants get to practice with an interactive marketing simulation during the session (using a real year from the past)!   Each participant gets a booklet with the visuals and additional information.  The workshops are free of charge thanks to generous local sponsors!

Pre-registration is encouraged for preparation for materials and seating; registrations will also be taken at the door.    For more information, to pre-register and to keep up to date on the workshops offered, go to the Iowa Winning the Game site at http://tinyurl.com/wtg1718
