La Nina conditions should weaken this spring

This past January averaged nearly 5 degrees colder than normal in Iowa, with some far northwestern parts of the state experiencing temperatures closer to normal. January total precipitation was a little below normal for the statewide average, and snowfall a little above normal. There was some wide variability in amounts across the state, however.
The temperature pattern in Iowa during February brought some wide variability from one side of normal to the other....
