“Sandy spots are showing stress after more than two weeks without rainfall, Morey said Aug. 3. “Beans are looking tough. You know it’s bad when the leaves look silver at 5 a.m.” Aphids are starting to appear in soybeans, and grasshoppers are moving into the edges of alfalfa fields. “I just put up my third cutting. It was a lot better than I thought it was going to be,” he said.”
