“Ponds are everywhere. Ones that I haven’t seen since I was a kid,” Dreith said June 14 after 1.5 to 6 inches of rain fell across the county earlier in the day. “Some guys are saying they haven’t seen ponds like this since 1991 or 1993.” He finished planting soybeans June 5 and was able to catch up on pre-emergence spraying. Corn might be too tall before sprayers can get back in the fields, he said.
