The gift in 1960 of Iowa breeding hogs to typhoon-ravaged Yamanashi, which Iowa Farm Bureau leaders and their Japanese hosts commemorated during the Iowans’ recent visit to Japan, is a prime example of Iowans using their world-class ability to produce high-quality and nutritious food to help others in need.
