The U.S. Department of Agriculture reduced Iowa’s expected corn yield while boosting the state’s expected soybean yield in its latest crop production report released last week.

Iowa 2018 corn production is forecast at 2.6 billion bushels, averaging 204 bushels per acre. The September forecast pegged Iowa corn production at 206 bushels per acre.

Iowa soybean production is forecast at 606.3 million bushels, or 61 bushels per acre. This was a 1-bushel-per-acre increase over the September forecast, the USDA noted.
