The price of regular unleaded gasoline held steady, averaging $3.24 across Iowa according to AAA.
Crude Oil Summary
- The price of global crude oil fell this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $9.96 per barrel, currently priced at $66.51.
- Brent crude oil fell $9.86 and is currently priced at $72.54.
- One year ago, WTI crude sold for $96.44 and Brent crude was at $105.14.
Motor Fuels
- As of Wednesday, March 15, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $3.24 across Iowa according to AAA.
- Prices held steady from last week’s price and are 67 cents lower than one year ago.
- The national average on Wednesday was $3.47, up 2 cents from last week’s price.
- Retail diesel prices in Iowa were up 1 cent this week with a statewide average of $3.95.
- One year ago, diesel prices averaged $4.73 in Iowa.
- The current Iowa diesel price is 39 cents less than the national average of $4.34.
- Wholesale ethanol held steady and is currently priced at $2.16.
- The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $2.27 for U87-E10, $2.63 for Unleaded 87 (clear), $2.78 for ULSD#2, $3.27 for ULSD#1, and $2.31 per gallon for E-70 prices.
Heating Fuels
- Propane prices held steady with a statewide average of $1.93 per gallon.
- Home heating oil prices fell 8 cents, with a statewide average of $3.43 per gallon.
- Natural gas prices fell 16 cents at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $2.42/MMbtu.
