Recently-released research conducted by Pipestone Veterinary Services and South Dakota State University confirms feed can be a carrier of the porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV). The research was reported in BMC Veterinary Research.

Joel Nerem, a veterinarian with Pipestone Veterinary Services, wrote on the company’s website that samples from inside feed storage bins at an infected farm indicated the virus was present. This led to more research.
