Farmers seek more flexible weed control on CRP acres

Farmers and landowners could soon have more flexibility for controlling Palmer amaranth on land enrolled in the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP).
Iowa State University weed specialist Bob Hartzler and others have been meeting with state and federal officials to expand options for controlling Palmer since the weed was discovered in CRP plantings throughout Iowa last year.
