The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing to revoke all crop tolerances for chlorpyrifos, an insecticide used in Dursban, Lorsban and other crop protection products.

Comments on the proposal are due Jan. 5, 2016, although ag industry groups including Farm Bureau have asked the EPA for a 90-day extension of the comment period. If crop tolerances for chlorpyrifos are revoked, growers will no longer be able to use the pesticide on any food crops.
