Chinese soybean buying slows

For the first time in several years, we are expected to see a decrease in China's soybean imports this marketing year. China has steadily increased its soybean consumption as the country increased its feed needs, mainly for hog production.
Chinese hog production has grown to a point where it totaled 48% of the world’s output. This pushed China’s soybean imports to a large 94.1 million metric tons in the 2017-18 marketing year.
