Bayer doubled the size of its agriculture business last week as it completed its takeover of Monsanto after a two-year process, marking the end for one of agriculture’s best known names.  

Bayer said products acquired during the transaction will keep the same brand names, but the Monsanto company name will disappear after a transition period.
