Anger builds over refinery waivers

Blistering feedback from farmers and biofuel supporters has the Trump administration trying to figure out how to soothe the anger over its recent decision allowing oil refiners out of their renewable fuel blending requirements.

President Trump huddled last week with cabinet members, including Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue and EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler, to work on a solution after corn and soybean growers blasted the administration for giving out 31 small refinery exemptions (SREs) earlier this month.
