More Iowa soybean growers will soon have a new market option for their acres. China has approved importation of Monsanto’s Vistive Gold high oleic soybeans.

The beans produce oil that enables production of foods with low saturated fat levels compared to other cooking oils, drastically reducing levels of trans fats. Vistive Gold soybean oil also boasts enhanced storage and processing stability.

This year farmers in northern Iowa began planting high oleic soybeans offered by DuPont-Pioneer, which received earlier approval from China.
