DES MOINES – Crude oil was down $3.99 this week, currently priced at $45.46. Brent crude oil was down $3.18, currently priced at $46.96 per barrel.
Crude Oil Summary
The price of global crude oil fell this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $3.99 per barrel over last week, and is currently priced at $45.46.
Brent crude oil fell $3.18, and is currently priced at $46.96.
One year ago WTI crude sold for $46.14 and Brent crude was at $47.91.
Motor Fuels
As of Tuesday, November 1st, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $2.16 across Iowa according to AAA. This is $.03 lower than one week ago and $.17 lower than one year ago. The national average on Tuesday was $2.21, down $.02 from last week’s price.
Retail diesel fuel prices in Iowa were down a penny from last week’s price with a statewide average of $2.43. One year ago diesel prices averaged $2.45 in Iowa. The current Iowa diesel average is a penny higher than the national average of $2.42.
Wholesale ethanol prices were down $.07 from last week’s price, closing at $1.53.
The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $1.37 for U87-E10, $1.62 for Unleaded 87 (clear), ULSD#2 is at $1.53, ULSD#1 is at $1.74, and E-70 is priced at $1.68 per gallon.
Heating Fuels
Propane prices were the same as last week’s report, with a statewide average of $1.03 per gallon. Home heating oil fell $.05 from last week, ending with a statewide average of $1.97. Natural Gas prices fell $.14 at the Henry Hub reporting site and ended the week at $2.53 / MMbtu.
