    2. The national average on Wednesday was $3.36, up 7 cents from last week’s price.
  • Retail diesel prices in Iowa were up 9 cents this week with a statewide average of $3.41. 
    1. One year ago, diesel prices averaged $2.18 in Iowa. 
    2. The current Iowa diesel price is 16 cents less than the national average of $3.57.
  • Wholesale ethanol was steady and is currently priced at $2.21.
  • The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $2.33 for U87-E10, $2.54 for Unleaded 87 (clear), $2.57 for ULSD#2, $2.82 for ULSD#1, and $2.63 per gallon for E-70 prices.

Heating Fuels

  • Propane prices were up 1 cent with a statewide average of $2.01 per gallon.
  • Home heating oil prices fell 1 cent, with a statewide average of $3.04 per gallon.
  • Natural gas prices fell 34 cents at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $5.08/MMbtu.
