Exploring the Impacts of Residue Management on Crop Yield and Fertilizer Inputs
Thursday, December 4 | 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM
Virtual
Join Iowa Learning Farms and the Iowa Nutrient Research Center for a free virtual field day. Dr. Mike Castellano, William T. Frankenberger Professor of Soil Science at Iowa State University, will discuss new research exploring how corn and soybean residue levels impact optimum nitrogen fertilizer rates and water quality outcomes.
Learn how strategies like partial residue harvest -- paired with no-till or cover crops -- could improve soil health and water quality without intensive tillage. Participants are encouraged to ask questions during the live discussion.
