The United States is keenly focused on ensuring China fulfills its promises under the Phase 1 trade agreement, including stepping up its purchases of agriculture goods, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said at a roundtable with Iowa farmers and commodity group leaders July 17 at Iowa Farm Bureau headquarters in West Des Moines.

Pompeo said he talked about the trade deal with the Chinese Communist Party’s top diplomat, Yang Jiechi, when the two met last month in Honolulu.
