Tyson Foods Inc. said it will make $8 million worth of upgrades to its pork processing plant in Storm Lake in 2014, a spokeman confirmed for Meatingplace.

The investment will add some new pork-processing equipment to the facility.

"It’s not a plant expansion and will not add jobs; however, it is expected to improve the efficiency of our operations," Gary Mickelson said in an emailed statement.

The project is scheduled for completion by mid-year 2014.
