Trends suggest drier conditions may linger

After warmer and drier than normal conditions in May for Iowa, the first part of June brought some cooler than normal weather to the state.
However, by later in the month temperatures were averaging above normal in most areas.
June rainfall was quite variable across the state. Late into the month, many amounts were below normal. Some of the driest locations reported less than one-third of the normal amount.
