Crop margins are tight and may continue for some time. Since crop marketing plans and tools take on increased importance in these times, Iowa Farm Bureau and ISU Extension are cooperating to bring the successful “Winning the Game” crop marketing education workshops to Iowa.
These workshops are unique in that they teach solid crop marketing planning that can be implemented on any crop farm. Participants rate these workshops as a very valuable way to learn and practice crop marketing within the workshop.
The two Winning the Game workshops are:
· Launch and Land Your 2017 Post-Harvest Marketing Plan
· Launch Your 2018 Pre-Harvest Marketing Plan
Launch and Land Your 2017 Post-Harvest Marketing Plan helps with marketing a crop in storage and teaches post-harvest exit strategies, what is “carry” and why it’s important, evaluating the risk of storing unpriced crops and more.
Launch Your 2018 Pre-Harvest Marketing Plan assists in marketing crop before and during the growing season. The workshop teaches useful seasonal price trends, target dates in a marketing plan, setting price objectives and more.
Both workshops teach marketing tool basics and include a fun marketing simulation to practice a marketing plan. Plus each participant gets a valuable booklet packed with information.
Workshops have been scheduled starting in late November through February across the state and the schedule will continue to build. Workshops in Moravia, Sioux City, Sheldon, Gowrie, Spirit Lake and Pocahontas are scheduled in the next 30 days. To check out the schedule and to register, go to http://tinyurl.com/wtg1718
