Webinar Description:  Iowa cattle producers, livestock farmers, and Farm Bureau members are invited to an important webinar on Monday, July 28 at 10:00 a.m., featuring two of Iowa’s leading veterinary experts—Dr. Jeff Kaisand, Iowa State Veterinarian, and Dr. Grant Dewell, Beef Extension Veterinarian at Iowa State University.

This timely session will address the recent emergence of the Asian Longhorned Tick and Iowa’s first confirmed case of Theileria orientalis Ikeda—a serious tickborne disease that can cause anemia, reproductive failure, and even death in cattle.

Dr. Kaisand will explain the disease’s impact and discuss the broader implications of the July 1 repeal of Iowa’s Brucellosis and Tuberculosis Eradication Fund. Dr. Dewell will share the latest updates on the disease’s presence in Iowa, including diagnostic approaches and control measures producers should know now.

The session will conclude with a live Q&A, giving attendees the opportunity to ask pressing questions and get expert guidance. Don’t miss this vital update—essential for anyone involved in cattle health and herd management in Iowa.
