State committee cites reduced deer population in lowering harvest quotas

Hunting season rules were ap­­proved last week that reduce the antlerless quotas in 72 counties and prohibit the harvest of antlerless deer in the remaining 27 counties in northwest and north-central Iowa during the first shotgun and early muzzleloader seasons.
