A family of trumpeter swans calmly floats on open water in a wetland near Storm Lake, dipping their beaks under the surface and stretching their wings in the sunlight.
Swans mate for life, and this pair will likely keep coming back to nest each spring on this man-made wetland, surrounded by cornfields, in northwest Iowa.
