Work to construct asphalt shoulders on the on- and off-ramps on U.S. 30 and Iowa 1 in Mount Vernon and on U.S. 30 at Lisbon Avenue in Lisbon requires closing the ramps to traffic starting on Wednesday, August 5, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Davenport construction office.

During the ramp closures in Mount Vernon and Lisbon, motorists should be aware of changing traffic patterns and will be directed onto a detour route with digital message signs.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
