Alliant Energy recently filed proposed gas and electric rate adjustments with the Iowa Utilities Board (IUB).  Notices went out to each customer class notifying them of the proposed increase with examples. The rate review process is a 10 month process including public comment. The IUB and its staff fully analyze the petition and the IUB makes the final decision. The Office of Consumer Advocate (a state agency) also reviews the proposal and participates in the process on behalf of customers as a whole. An interim rate increase will take effect April 1, but it is refunded if the final amount approved is a lessor amount.

Public comments into the IUB docket for their consideration, can be made here:  https://iub.iowa.gov/online-services/open-docket-comment-form
