Spring 2020 is trending a little wetter and a little warmer than average, but it’s not expected to be another disastrous planting season like 2019.

“We can pretty safely say 2020 will not be a repeat of 2019 unless some more extreme things happen,” said Dennis Todey, director of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Midwest Climate Hub in Ames. “We haven’t had as much snow, and we haven’t had as much frozen ground, so the ground has been able to dry.
