Despite moisture across much of the state, this week's planting progress report show significant increases as we get the crop in. Look for pace to slow slightly in the week ahead as additional rains over the past weekend keep many out of the fields to start the week.

Iowa – 86% planted, an increase of 16% week on week well above the 5-year average of 72%

U.S. - 65% planted vs the 5-year average of 59% and 20% ahead of last year. 

 

Beans Planted, May 15, 2023

Iowa - 69% planted, an increase of 20% from last week. Also, well ahead of the 48% 5-year average.

U.S. - 49% planted vs the 36% 5-year average.
