Persistent rains cause significant planting delays in southern Iowa

Farmers in much of Iowa have used breaks between scattered rains to finish planting soybeans, make hay and complete other early season field work. But it’s been a different story in southwest and south-central counties, where a series of heavy storms has drenched fields and forced farmers out of the fields for an extended period.
