Iowa farmers should contact their Farm Bureau agents to determine if they may benefit from enrolling in the new health insurance plans under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) or should stick with their current plans.

In addition, farmers and small-business owners with more than one employee should talk to their financial advisors about new tax law changes that limit medical reimbursements to employees.

Farm Bureau members received an update on new health insurance options at the Iowa Farm Bureau annual meeting last week in Des Moines. Health care is one of the top three issues that Farm Bureau members say they are concerned about, according to Iowa Farm Bureau surveys.
