NPR Story Explores Effectiveness of EPA Chief

An NPR story, “Scott Pruitt Praised and Reviled For ‘Effectiveness,’ But How Effective Is He?” noted that the Environmental Protection Agency chief has been praised for his aggressive moves to roll back environmental regulations but says that some wonder if he’s really getting the job done. AFBF General Counsel Ellen Steen had the final quote in the story and pointed out that overhaul of the Waters of the U.S. rule is taking a long time, but that’s actually a good thing. “They are realizing that to do things right takes time, and they’re going through a thoughtful process. And we want that because we want what comes out at the end of the day to be something that is thoughtful,” Steen told NPR.
