Cover crops were being flown on, and silage chopping was in full swing last week, Ten Napel said Sept. 19. Corn yield estimates range from 125 bushels per acre on lighter soils to more than 200 bushels on better ground, he said. “They say some places are pretty good, but then you hit one of those wet spots.” Soybean harvest is expected to begin around Oct. 1, Ten Napel said.
