Hoffman was working to put hay up last week before corn and soybean harvest begins. He hand-shelled some corn on sandy soil that tested at 19% moisture. “There’s a couple guys nosing around in corn,” he said Sept. 9. “There’s some beans that’ll go in two weeks.” Rain amounts totaled 4.5 to 6 inches during the past couple weeks, which helped fill soybean pods, he said.
