Soybeans are slowly changing color in Johnson’s fields. “It’s starting to look like fall,” he said Sept. 6. Corn silage chopping near him has produced yield estimates of 200 bushels per acre or better, though he noted, “I think that’s on the low end.” He has also spotted planes flying cover crops into standing corn in his area.
