“Sandy spots in the cornfields are firing pretty bad,” Sievers said July 31. “Even if we get rain tomorrow, it’s probably too late for those spots.” Fungicide application is done along with some pesticide spraying. Sievers said he has seen a lot of thistle caterpillars emerging recently. He has also started to work on his combine, getting ready for harvest.
