“We got an inch of rain, which is going help some, but it's not enough," Sievers said Aug. 13. Corn leaves are firing on lighter and sandier soils and most fields appear to be losing yield potential, he said. "What we thought was there isn't there anymore," Sievers said. Soybeans are holding on, but need a rain to keep from aborting pods, he said.
