Crops generally look good after about 2.5 inches of rain last week, Vander Velde said Aug. 10. “We’re sitting pretty good for moisture,” he said. “We’re starting to see a little firing in the bottom leaves of some corn from nitrogen loss early in the season.” Some farmers replanted soybeans in drowned out areas to help keep weed pressure down, and oats have been harvested.
