“We could use a little more rain. We’ve only been getting a tenth or two at a time,” Twedt said July 21, noting that it’s been more than six weeks since the area received a 1-inch rain. “The good ground isn’t hurting yet, but the lighter soils are starting to show up,” he said. “With this heat, the spots are going to get bigger.” Corn was just finishing up tasseling. “The timing of the heat isn’t the best for us,” he said.
