Crops and pastures are looking better after 1.3 inches of rain July 4-5, Glienke said. Corn leaves were rolling in the heat, and pastures were burning up before the rain. “This will help us. We were at a breaking point if we didn’t get that rain. All of our reserves were gone.” Post-emergence spraying on soybeans is done. Insect populations surged in hayfields during the dry weather.
