“The cooler spell we had helped the crops, but we could still use a rain,” Twedt said July 7. “We had good rains early, but hardly anything the last three weeks.” Most corn in the area is about 10 days away from tasseling, and some of the drilled soybeans have started to canopy. Farmers are working on the second cutting of hay and finishing up spraying soybeans, Twedt said.
