“The heat has been really good for these crops, ” Peelen said June 4. Corn plants are taking off, and some fields are nearly ankle-high already. Soybean plants have a couple leaves out, he said. Stands are good after a nearly perfect planting season, Peelen said. “Everybody is in spraying mode now, trying to catch up on post-emerge applications,” he said.
