Corn is starting to even out after a slow start, spurred on by last week’s hot weather, Jesse said June 23. “Everybody is getting their side-dressing and spraying done,” she said. Rainfall has dried up after a wet spring that delayed planting. Soybean growth looks slow, and oat yields are expected to be below average, she said. “We’re getting thirsty. It’s time for a rain.”
