“Things are really looking good,” Ten Napel said June 20. “Last week, corn was still yellow and streaky. It’s really greened up.” Most corn has been sprayed, and farmers are preparing to make herbicide applications on soybeans. Corn is between V5 to V8, behind most years, and some soybeans are still trying to push through crusty soils. He’s heard tonnage was good on first-cutting hay.
