Farmers in Hammen’s area have been “working around the wet spots,” he said June 7, planting soybeans and replanting both corn and soybeans in fields that were washed out or ponded in May. “The side hills are still really wet,” Hammen said, making field work slow. “Years like this are challenging because you get everything thrown at you all at once,” he said.
