“It’s definitely nice, having been in a drought, to get some moisture in the ground,” Fisch said April 24. The region has received about 1 inch of rain on average with more expected. “A lot of guys are completely done with corn and beans, but then others who are saying what’s the big rush ... I’m going to wait until the beginning of May.” Soil temperatures are in the low 50s.
