“We’re probably half done combining beans,” Kooiker said Sept. 30. “So far, the yields are pretty good, even on the lighter ground.” Moisture has been running around 10% to 11%, although there are patches in some fields where stems and leaves are still green. “A freeze would be wonderful to kill the stems,” he said. Cattle feeders are doing earlage and high moisture corn.
