“It’s pretty soggy here,” Dreith said Oct. 11. “It’s just not drying out very fast.” Fields were already muddy before last week’s rain, which ranged from 1.5 to 3 inches. “We were in the field last Saturday, and there were a few guys running Sunday morning before it rained,” he said. Corn moisture was ranging from 16 to 19 percent, and soybeans were around 17 percent after picking up moisture.
