Iowa specialty crops doing well

Iowa’s wet and cool spring delayed specialty crop planting by a week or more, but most of the early season crops rooted well, experts say. Warm season crops were hampered a bit by the wet weather, too, but they rebounded to the delight of Iowans who love their homegrown produce.
Paul Ovrum with the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship recently spoke with growers and said that overall, Iowa’s specialty crops have been performing well.
