The Iowa Nutrient Research Cen­ter announced last week that it had funded 10 additional projects designed to develop tools to help farmers reduce nutrient loss from their fields and to improve Iowa water quality.

One project seeks to develop a method to determine the quantity of phosphorus loss associated with ephemeral gullies in 12 Iowa watersheds, plus the total phosphorus loss from these watersheds that originate from ephemeral gully formation.
