There are over 3,000 private wells in Washington County according to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, and ISU Extension and Outreach wants to make sure that well owners have the information they need to keep them safe.
The Washington County Extension office will host a no-cost, one-hour learning session for private well owners on October 13th. The program will help attendees understand their well’s water quality and connect them to resources to manage their well.
The learning session will detail how to test your well and who can help, common contaminants, and factors that affect well water quality. The program will be taught by Catherine DeLong, Water Quality Program Manager for ISU Extension and Outreach.
The program will take place on Tuesday, October 13th, from 6 to 7:15 p.m. at the Washington County Extension office. Pre-registration is requested.
To RSVP contact the Washington County Extension office by phone 319-653-4811 or email andrewm4@iastate.edu or go to http://go.iastate.edu/FE4DNM
